| Gradings | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Academy offers every student the opportunity to pursue gradings. Assessed by the head instructor, these are a formal measure of progress. The first grading is square form which entitles the student to wear a black sash. Higher gradings add colored stripes to the sash, and those who pursue the very demanding nei kung training are entitled to wear a white shirt. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Students can perform a "mock" grading as part of their preparation. This helps to steady the nerves and refine the techniques before the real thing. As each grading usually requires at least 1-2 years training, they are quite a significant achievement. In recognition of this effort, a formal certificate is issued for each successful grading. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
