| Tai Chi Ch'uan is
an ancient health and martial art that includes aspects of meditation,
stretching, breathing exercises (Chi Kung), relaxation and personal
growth. |
|
 |
 |
| Tai Chi is enjoyed by people of all ages. The
graceful movements of Tai Chi develop and strengthen all parts
of the body, improve balance and counteract the effects of stress.
Tai Chi is also a unique system of self defence. |
 |
|
 |
| Tai Chi Ch'uan is related to
Taoism, Ch'an Buddhism and the I-Ching and is of far reaching significance
in everyday living. It's practice increases awareness of the transformations
and manifestations of Chi, the vital
forces, and leads to the effective use of Chi. |
 |
| In this way, grace beauty and
power in movement are achieved, good health in mind and body is promoted
and spiritual insights into one's own nature and life are realised. At
the same time, an efficient system of self defence is learned. |
 |
 |
| The key objective of Tai Chi
Ch'uan is to allow you to meditate, move and breath interdependently
and in harmony. It silences the thinking mind and moves you to your intuitive
consciousness. |
 |
| Your mind concentrates on your
breathing, or a single thought, while your body relaxes through graceful,
circular and soft movements, bringing your mind into balance and harmony.
Correct breathing is important to gain psychological and physiological
control of your body, helping to restore calmness, energy and strength.
The slowness helps you to consciously control and coordinate your muscles
and avoid sudden exertion which may cause muscular damage and pain. |
 |
| Over time, the end result is
improved physical, mental and spiritual vitality. Our classes are mixed
and friendly, and visitors are always welcome. |
